About the Job
We're looking for an Event Manager who knows how to get things done — someone who’s not just great at planning but thrives on executing high-impact events that drive real outcomes. If you’ve run events for tech startups, PE/venture-backed companies, or growth-stage teams in New York, you already understand what we need: speed, precision, and results.
This is not a coordinator role. You’ll be the operational lead — setting strategy, managing budgets, owning relationships, and being physically present to make sure every detail lands. We’re building something ambitious, and we want someone who’s built events in the same kind of environment.
This role is 100% on-site in NYC. If there’s a weekend or evening event, you’ll be there. If something needs to happen fast, you’ll figure out how. The bar is high — and that’s exactly how you like it.
What You'll Own
- End-to-end ownership of events — first-party and third-party — that align with company growth goals
- Execution of high-quality, on-brand experiences that stand out in NYC’s saturated tech event scene
- Budget creation, vendor negotiation, contracts, timelines — nothing gets dropped
- Hands-on management of event setup, run-of-show, and teardown (you’re on the floor when it matters)
- Deep integration with marketing, sales, and leadership to tie events to pipeline and brand strategy
- Real-time problem solving when things change (because they always do)
- Post-event reporting and insights to keep raising the standard
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years running events for tech startups or high-growth companies — ideally in NYC
- Track record of shipping high-stakes, multi-vendor events with zero fluff
- Deep familiarity with NYC’s startup ecosystem, venues, and vendor network
- Clear communicator who thrives in fast-paced, high-accountability environments
- Willing and able to work evenings/weekends as needed — we don’t run 9-to-5 events
- Fully on-site in NYC, this is not a remote or hybrid role
- Comfortable using tools like Cvent, EventPro, Airtable, Google Suite, and Slack
Bonus Points
- Experience with conferences, founder dinners, demo days, and partner activations
- Marketing chops to collaborate on campaigns and content strategy
- Experience growing event programs from scratch
